Start of project implementation for Special Environmental Studies and Management plans for the NATURA 2000 Network of protected sites in Greece

The kick-off meeting for the Special Environmental Studies (SES) and Management plans (MP) for the NATURA 2000 Network of protected sites in Greece took place on 21/03/2019.

The project launch was marked by the meeting held in the auditorium of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, which was attended by representatives of the Ministry, the Project Coordinator ENVECO S.A. and the experts responsible for the 11 individual studies. HOMEOTECH participated in this meeting as the company responsible for the “Elaboration of SES and MP for the Natura 2000 areas of the Region of Central Macedonia (Eastern Section: Regional Units of Serres, Kilkis, Thessaloniki & Chalkidiki)”.

This project is extremely important for the country, both in terms of protecting its natural environment and its commitments towards the EU, as it covers a variety of obligations arising from the implementation of Directives 92/43/EEC and 2009/147/EC. The project implementation will contribute significantly to the integrated protection of the natural environment in Greece through the effective institution and management of its protected areas.

The project will be completed in 2021
