Responsible for the implementation of the study are the Ministry of Environment, the Hellenic Property Development Fund, the company HOMEOTECH and the Forestry Departments of Kapandriti, Lavrio, Megara, Piraeus, Parnitha, Penteli and Poros. The study entitled "Preparation of a Fire Protection Plan in Areas of Responsibility of the Forestry Departments of Penteli, Kapandriti, Lavrio, Parnitha, Megara, Piraeus and Poros: SP-A2" is part of the implementation of the project "Preparation of studies for the preparation of fire protection plans in areas under the responsibility of the Forestry Offices of Atalante, Chalkida, Lake, Istria, Istria, Aliveri, Thebes and Penteli, Kapandriti, Lavrio, Parnitha, Megara, Piraeus, Poros and Soufli". The fire protection plan aims to analyse the potential of forest fires in the study area and then, based on a thorough assessment, to design appropriate measures, actions and activities to shield the areas from fire risk. The implementation of these plans is based on: the investigation of the fire history and existing fire protection infrastructure the assessment of the fire risk and potential fire intensity, and the identification of the areas at highest risk the development of a plan of projects, actions and collective actions, prioritised to reduce the fire risk and increase the preparedness to respond in the event of a fire.
